Duende is a Spanish term meaning "spirit" or "gut". Duende is the heart of the tango, a style which itself is the very pulse of Argentina's music and dance. Sensuous, romantic, playful but with some sense of danger, Astor Piazzolla's expansions and variations on the tango tradition are deeply steeped in a sense of duende.
